About the Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens
The Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens is a wide-angle zoom designed for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras, offering a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout its focal range. The lens employs ZEISS Tessar optical design with twelve elements in ten groups, including five aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to minimize aberrations and deliver sharp, color-accurate images. Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps reduce camera shake when shooting handheld, while a linear autofocus motor provides quick and silent focusing suitable for both photography and video work.
The lens features dust and moisture-resistant construction, making it suitable for use in challenging weather conditions, and includes ZEISS T* anti-reflective coatings on all lens surfaces to enhance clarity and contrast. A rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth bokeh quality when using selective focus techniques. With a compact and lightweight design weighing 518 grams, this lens is well-suited for landscape, street, and cityscape photography across a 107° to 63° angle of view.
