The Sony FE 50mm f/1.4 GM Lens is a full-frame prime lens designed for Sony E-mount cameras, featuring advanced optics and a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture. The lens incorporates two XA aspherical elements and one ED glass element to minimize aberrations while delivering exceptional sharpness and color accuracy across still and video applications. With dual XD Linear Motors providing quick and precise autofocus, an internal focusing design, and a minimum focus distance of 16.1 inches, this lens enables both rapid subject tracking and dynamic close-up imagery.
The 11-blade circular aperture produces pleasing bokeh ideal for portraiture and selective focus techniques, while the f/1.4 aperture also permits handheld shooting in low-light conditions. The lens includes an iris lock switch, de-clickable aperture ring for silent video operation, focus hold buttons, and a linear response manual focus ring for precise control. Despite its sophisticated optical design and autofocus system, the lens remains compact and lightweight at just 18.2 ounces and measures 3.2 inches in diameter by 3.8 inches in length, with dust and moisture-resistant construction and fluorine coating on the front element for durability.
