About the Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 Lens (Sony E)
The Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 is a compact wide-angle prime lens designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and compatible with APS-C models where it provides a 36mm equivalent focal length. The lens features an f/2.8 maximum aperture that balances light-gathering capability with a sleek, lightweight profile ideal for travel photography. Its optical design includes three low-dispersion elements and one molded aspherical element to minimize chromatic aberration and distortion while maintaining excellent sharpness and color fidelity.
This lens offers a half life-size 1:2 maximum magnification ratio with a 4.7-inch minimum focusing distance, making it well-suited for close-up shooting and macro work. The OSD stepping motor autofocus system delivers quiet and precise focusing performance with full-time manual override capability. Additional features include moisture-resistant construction, a fluorine coating on the front element for protection against dust and smearing, and a rounded seven-blade diaphragm that contributes to smooth bokeh quality.
