This Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD lens is a full-frame Sony E-mount zoom that covers a wide-to-super-telephoto range in a compact, portable design. The lens features a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture at the wide end, specialized optical elements for maintaining sharpness across the zoom range, and an RXD stepping motor that delivers quiet and precise autofocus suitable for both stills and video work. The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 7.5 inches with a 1:3.1 magnification ratio, full-time manual focus override, and compatibility with Sony's Direct Manual Focus function.
A moisture-resistant construction and fluorine-coated front element protect the lens in challenging environmental conditions and against dust and fingerprints. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth bokeh quality, while a zoom lock switch keeps the lens in its retracted position when not in use. This versatile lens can also be used on APS-C Sony cameras, where it provides an equivalent focal length of 42-300mm.
