This Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro lens is designed for Nikon F-mount DSLRs and features an integrated autofocus motor that enables fast, quiet autofocus performance with all Nikon DSLRs, including cameras without internal focus motors such as the D40 and D40x. The lens covers a 70mm to 300mm telephoto range with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 at the tele end, making it suitable for outdoor photography, portraiture, and wildlife shooting with excellent portability due to its compact, lightweight construction.
The Digitally Integrated (Di) optical design incorporates LD glass elements and multiple-layer coatings to minimize ghosting, flare, and aberrations while maintaining corner light transmission across the full-frame format. A macro switch in the 180mm to 300mm focal length range enables close-focus shooting at 1.6 feet, allowing photographers to combine telephoto compression with macro magnification for specialized close-up work.
