The Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM is a wide-angle prime lens designed for Canon EF-mount full-frame DSLRs, offering a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture that enables excellent low-light performance and precise control over depth of field. The lens features two ultra-low dispersion elements that minimize chromatic aberrations and two aspherical elements that reduce spherical aberrations and distortion for exceptional optical clarity and sharpness. A Sub Wavelength Coating applied to individual lens elements suppresses flare and ghosting while improving contrast and color fidelity across various lighting conditions.
The lens incorporates a ring-type ultrasonic motor for fast and quiet autofocus operation with full-time manual focus override and a floating internal focusing mechanism that maintains consistent image quality throughout its 9.84-inch to infinity focusing range. As part of Canon's L-series, the lens features a robust construction sealed against dust and moisture, and includes a rounded eight-blade diaphragm that produces smooth bokeh when using shallow depth of field techniques.
