About the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens (Sony E)
The Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD is a full-frame-compatible standard zoom lens for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, offering a versatile focal range from wide-angle to short telephoto perspectives. The lens maintains a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the entire zoom range, enabling consistent light transmission and enhanced control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates low dispersion and aspherical elements, along with BBAR anti-reflection coatings, to deliver high image quality with reduced chromatic and spherical aberrations, improved contrast, and superior color fidelity even in challenging lighting conditions.
The RXD stepping motor provides fast, nearly silent autofocus performance suitable for both stills and video work, with full-time manual focus override available. The lens features a minimum focusing distance of 7.5 inches and includes moisture-resistant construction with a fluorine-coated front element for protection against dust and fingerprints, making it well-suited for use in varied environmental conditions.
