About the Nikon AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED Lens
The AF-S Zoom-NIKKOR 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED is a professional-grade wide-angle zoom lens designed for Nikon F-mount FX-format cameras. It features a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout its zoom range, providing consistent light transmission and performance for both stills and video work. The optical design incorporates three aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements that work together to minimize distortion, spherical aberrations, and chromatic aberrations for sharp, accurate imagery.
A Silent Wave Motor delivers quick and nearly silent autofocus performance while supporting full-time manual focus override, and an internal focusing mechanism maintains the lens's physical length during use. The Super Integrated Coating applied to all lens elements suppresses flare, ghosting, and internal reflections to ensure excellent contrast and color accuracy in challenging lighting conditions. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing out-of-focus rendering when using shallow depth of field techniques.
