The lens features a sophisticated optical design with three extra-low dispersion elements and three high refractive index elements to minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations while delivering consistent sharpness throughout the zoom range. ZERO lens coatings reduce reflections to improve contrast and color fidelity in bright lighting conditions.
The Movie & Still Compatible autofocus system provides smooth, quiet, and fast focusing performance for both photography and video applications. With a compact design weighing only 14.92 ounces and a rounded seven-blade diaphragm, the lens produces clean bokeh quality and remains highly portable for telephoto work. The minimum focusing distance of 2.95 feet allows reasonable close-focusing capability for a telephoto lens.
