The Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens is an ultra-wide-angle zoom designed for Sony E-mount cameras and optimized for APS-C sensor bodies. It features a fast constant f/2.8 aperture throughout its focal range, which translates to a 15-27mm equivalent on full-frame sensors and provides excellent low-light performance. The lens incorporates a 7-blade rounded diaphragm for smooth bokeh and weighs only 9 ounces, making it highly portable for travel and videography applications.
The optical design employs 13 elements arranged in 10 groups to deliver sharp, distortion-controlled images across the 10-18mm range. It includes a fast internal autofocus system with a minimum focusing distance of 4.6 inches, enabling close-up work with a 1:4 maximum magnification ratio at the wide end. The lens features dust and splash-resistant construction at the mount, includes a compact push-on petal hood, and is compatible with Adobe lens correction profiles for additional editing flexibility.
