This Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens is a compact prime designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, providing a 60mm full-frame equivalent focal length suitable for portraits and general-purpose shooting. The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture enables excellent low-light performance and offers extensive depth-of-field control for selective focus techniques. The optical design incorporates two aspherical elements and one high-refractive index element to minimize distortion and spherical aberrations, while a Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting in challenging lighting conditions.
The lens features a stepping autofocus motor that delivers fast, quiet, and smooth focusing performance for both stills and video work. A nine-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh rendition, and the construction uses thermally stable composite materials and a brass bayonet mount for durability and precision. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 11.81 inches and accepts 52mm filters.
