The Sigma 90mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens is a short-telephoto prime lens designed for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras that excels for portraiture and selective subject isolation. The lens features a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture paired with five special low dispersion elements and one aspherical element that work together to deliver excellent sharpness and control chromatic aberration. Its all-metal construction is weather-sealed for durability in inclement conditions, while the mechanical aperture ring with 'A' position and stepping motor autofocus provide intuitive and reliable operation.
The rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces smooth bokeh rendering, and the compact lightweight design makes it versatile for everyday shooting. On full-frame Sony E-mount cameras, the 90mm focal length offers a natural portrait perspective, while on APS-C models it provides an effective 135mm equivalent for increased compression. The lens maintains a minimum focusing distance of 1.6 feet and weighs just 10.4 ounces.
