The lens features a de-clickable aperture ring that provides both tactile feedback for photography and silent, smooth control for video work, along with dedicated focus and zoom control rings for quick adjustments. Built with dust and moisture resistance plus a fluorine-coated front lens element to repel fingerprints and oils, the optical design includes 16 elements in 13 groups with aspherical and ED elements that support macro focusing at a minimum distance of 7.1 inches.

The 11-blade rounded diaphragm creates smooth bokeh in out-of-focus areas, while the bright f/2.8 aperture enables high-quality image capture in low-light conditions.
