The Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM is a full-frame prime lens featuring an exceptionally bright f/1.2 maximum aperture that enables shallow depth of field photography and improved handheld shooting in low-light conditions. The G Master optical design incorporates three XA aspherical elements, Nano AR Coating II, and a floating focus mechanism to deliver outstanding sharpness and bokeh quality with minimal aberrations and reflections. Four XD linear motors provide fast and precise autofocus performance with internal focus design, while the minimum focusing distance of 1.3 feet allows for dynamic close-up work with a 0.17x magnification ratio.

Despite its complex optical design and high-performance autofocus system, the lens remains compact and portable at 3.4 inches in diameter and 4.3 inches in length, weighing just 1.7 pounds. The dust- and moisture-sealed construction with a fluorine-coated front element enables reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions, while the rounded 11-blade diaphragm produces smooth, circular bokeh.
