BG-E4 Battery Grip

The Canon BG-E4 is a vertical grip and battery holder designed exclusively for the Canon EOS 5D camera. Constructed from magnesium alloy to match the camera body, it features a vertical shutter button, main control dial, AE/FE lock button, and AF point selector for comfortable one-handed operation in vertical orientation. The grip accepts either two BP-511/511A/512/514 batteries or six AA batteries (usable above 50°F/10°C), effectively doubling your shooting time.

The BG-E4 improves overall camera handling and adds an additional strap eyelet, allowing for compatibility with Canon's optional E1 Hand Strap. At 8.0 ounces, it provides a balanced extension to the 5D camera while maintaining the same professional-grade build quality.
