EF 2x II Extender

The Canon EF 2x II Extender is a teleconverter that doubles the focal length of compatible EF lenses while maintaining image quality through improved antireflective internal coatings. When mounted on a lens, it multiplies the focal length by 2x while reducing the effective aperture by two f-stops; for example, a 300mm f/2.8 lens becomes a 600mm f/5.6 lens. The extender features seven lens elements in five groups, weathersealed construction with rubber gasket seals for durability, and weighs 9.3 ounces.

This teleconverter works only with a select list of compatible EF lenses and is best used with telephoto optics of 50mm or longer. Autofocus functionality is supported with any EOS body when the attached lens has an f/2.8 or faster maximum aperture, and image stabilization is maintained on compatible IS lenses with current EOS cameras.
