EF 2x III Extender

The Canon Extender EF 2X III is a teleconverter designed for select Canon EF mount L-series telephoto lenses that doubles the focal length while maintaining image quality. The optical design features nine elements in five groups, with all elements coated in Canon's Super Spectra coating to minimize ghosting and flare, while fluorine coating on the front and rear elements resists water spots and fingerprints. An integrated microprocessor enables full communication between the extender and camera body, ensuring accurate autofocus, metering, and lens data transfer for sharp results even with moving subjects, though the effective aperture is reduced by two stops when attached.

The extender is built for professional use with dust and water resistance for operation in extreme shooting conditions. Its compact design weighs just 11.5 ounces and features a strategically positioned lens release mechanism that enables quick mounting and reduces exposure time for camera and lens. The Extender EF 2X III is compatible with Canon L-series fixed focal length lenses of 135mm and longer, as well as popular zoom lenses including the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L.
