The Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III is a professional-grade digital SLR camera featuring a 21.1-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with 14-bit color depth and dual DIGIC III image processors that deliver exceptional image quality and processing speed. The camera body is constructed from magnesium alloy with weather-sealed controls and seams, and the shutter is engineered to withstand over 300,000 exposures. This camera is equipped with a 45-point autofocus system, a 3-inch LCD display with Live View functionality, and a burst shooting capability of 5 frames per second for up to 56 JPEG or 12 RAW images.

The EOS-1Ds Mark III includes a self-cleaning sensor system that uses ultrasonic vibrations to remove dust from the low-pass filter, with supplementary software-based dust removal tools provided in the included Digital Photo Professional software. The camera is fully compatible with Canon's complete line of EF lenses and EX Speedlite flash units, supports UDMA CompactFlash memory cards, and can be equipped with the optional WFT-E2A wireless file transmitter for remote operation and wireless data transfer.
