RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM

The Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM is a telephoto zoom lens designed for Canon's full-frame RF-mount mirrorless cameras. The lens provides a 100-400mm focal length range with a maximum magnification of 0.41x at the 400mm position, enabling both distant subjects and close-up shooting. Optical stabilization reduces camera shake by up to 5.5 stops, or up to 6 stops when combined with compatible in-body stabilization, making handheld operation practical in low-light conditions. The Nano USM autofocus system delivers fast, quiet, and accurate focusing suitable for both photography and video applications.

The compact optical design incorporates one Ultra Low Dispersion element and one aspherical element to minimize aberrations while maintaining high sharpness across the zoom range. A Super Spectra Coating reduces flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy, and the rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh quality. The lens supports optional RF 1.4x and RF 2x teleconverters for extended reach and features a configurable control ring for adjusting aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation.
