The DJI RS 3 is a lightweight three-axis gimbal stabilizer weighing 2.2 pounds with a maximum payload capacity of 6.6 pounds, making it compatible with professional cameras such as the Sony a7S III or Canon R5 equipped with standard zoom lenses. The gimbal features a 1.8-inch full-color OLED touchscreen display, automated axis locks for quick deployment, and wireless Bluetooth shutter control that eliminates the need for camera control cables. It delivers 20 percent enhanced stability compared to its predecessor through a third-generation stabilization algorithm and offers a SuperSmooth mode that increases motor torque for stable footage during dynamic movements or when using longer focal-length lenses.

The RS 3 provides up to 12 hours of battery runtime with a full charge time of 2.5 hours using 18W USB-C fast charging, and the battery grip features a convenient cartridge design for quick battery swaps. The gimbal includes integrated controls such as a fine-tuning knob for millimeter-grade balance adjustments, a customizable mode switch for selecting between Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow, and FPV modes, and a front dial for controlling zoom, focus, or other camera parameters. It supports the DJI Ronin app for smartphone monitoring and remote control via the optional Ronin Image Transmitter, which transmits 1080p30 HD video at distances up to 656 feet with minimal latency.
