HXR-NX5U Camcorder

The Sony HXR-NX5U is a professional AVCHD camcorder featuring three 1/3-inch CMOS Exmor sensors that deliver high-resolution 1920x1080 video along with 720p recording capabilities at frame rates of 24p, 30p, 60p, and 60i. The camera records to affordable memory cards such as Memory Stick PRO Duo and SDHC cards using the efficient MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec, and can simultaneously capture different formats to dual memory slots for backup or hybrid workflows. Professional connectivity is extensive, including HD-SDI uncompressed 4:2:2 output, HDMI, dual XLR audio inputs, and timecode synchronization capability.

The camcorder employs a 20x optical G-lens with natural-touch manual controls for focus, zoom, and iris, complemented by built-in ND filters and a six-blade iris for precise depth-of-field control. Additional professional features include integrated GPS for location metadata, Linear PCM or Dolby Digital audio recording, support for both HD and SD simultaneous recording, and a newly designed interface with touchscreen operation and traditional button controls.
