The B+W 86mm XS-Pro Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC-Nano Filter reduces reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces by filtering out polarized light, resulting in noticeably clearer images with reduced haze and increased color saturation in skies and foliage. The circular design includes a quarter-wave plate that circularly polarizes the light, allowing autofocus and autoexposure systems to function correctly on digital cameras, which distinguishes it from linear polarizers. Constructed from Schott optical glass with precision-polished surfaces, the filter features multi-layered MRC anti-reflection coatings plus an additional Nano coating layer that provides enhanced water beading for easier cleaning and improved durability. The thin brass filter ring minimizes vignetting while the rotatable filter ring allows adjustment of the polarization effect intensity to achieve the strongest results when positioned at approximately 90 degrees from the sun. With a 4 to 5.7x filter factor reducing exposure by 2 to 2.5 stops, this 86mm filter is compatible with standard lens filter threads and includes a plastic storage case.
