D40X

The Nikon D40x is a compact and lightweight digital SLR camera equipped with a 10.2-megapixel DX format CCD sensor capable of producing high-quality images suitable for enlargements up to 20x30 inches and beyond. The camera features ISO sensitivity ranging from 100 to 1600, Nikon's 3D Color Matrix Metering II for accurate exposure control, and a fast startup time of 0.18 seconds with continuous shooting at up to 3 frames per second. The bright 2.5-inch color LCD screen, large viewfinder with 0.8x magnification, and built-in Speedlight with i-TTL automatic flash control make this camera practical for both beginners and advancing photographers.

The D40x offers eight Digital Vari-Program scene modes that automatically optimize camera settings for specific shooting situations, while also providing manual controls including Aperture-priority and Shutter-priority modes for greater creative flexibility. In-camera image editing features such as D-Lighting, Red-Eye Correction, monochrome effects, and filter options allow for post-processing without a computer, and the camera supports direct printing via PictBridge to compatible printers. The included PictureProject software enables straightforward image transfer and basic editing on Windows and Macintosh computers, with battery life rated at approximately 520 shots per charge.
