D5000

The Nikon D5000 is a DX-format digital SLR camera body equipped with a 12.3-megapixel CMOS sensor and pro-quality imaging features in a compact, entry-level design. The camera captures HD 720p video with audio and offers a distinctive 2.7-inch variable-angle LCD screen that enables Live View composition from virtually any shooting angle. It features an 11-point autofocus system with 3D Focus Tracking, 3D Color Matrix II metering, and the ability to shoot RAW, JPEG, or RAW+JPEG formats with burst rates up to 4 fps.

Additional capabilities include 19 auto-exposure scene modes, in-camera image editing functions, a 3-tier dust-removal system, and ISO sensitivity ranging from 200 to 3200 (expandable to 100-6400). The D5000 accepts all AF-S and AF-I NIKKOR lenses and works with select functionality on other Nikon lens types, making it compatible with a wide range of Nikon optics.
