This Special Edition lens features a classic design heritage with a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture, a dual stepping motor autofocus system for quiet and accurate focusing, and a rear-focus optical design that minimizes focus breathing. A programmable control ring enables customizable adjustment of focus, aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation, while the A/M focus mode allows seamless switching between autofocus and manual focus.

The lens employs advanced optical engineering with nine elements in eight groups, including one aspherical element, and Nikon's Super Integrated Lens Coating to minimize ghosting and flare. With a 75-degree angle of view on full-frame sensors, this versatile wide-angle lens suits landscape, architecture, and reportage photography, weighing just 160 grams and measuring only 43mm in length for convenient portability.
