The Nikon NIKKOR Z 70-180mm f/2.8 Lens is a full-frame telephoto zoom lens designed for the Nikon Z mount camera system. The lens maintains a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout its entire zoom range, providing superior light-gathering capability equivalent to being twice as bright as an f/4 lens, which is particularly advantageous for low-light photography and creating shallow depth-of-field effects. The optical design incorporates one Super ED and five ED glass elements to minimize chromatic aberration, along with three aspherical elements that reduce distortion while enabling a compact and lightweight form factor.

The lens features an STM stepping motor for fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus performance suitable for both stills and video work, combined with an internal focusing design that maintains a consistent barrel length during zoom and focus operations.
