WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter

The Nikon WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter is a compact Wi-Fi device that attaches to compatible Nikon DSLR and compact cameras to enable wireless image transfer to smartphones and tablets running Android 2.3+ or iOS 6.0+. The adapter automatically transfers selected images from the camera to connected mobile devices without requiring a computer or USB cable. Once on a smartphone or tablet, transferred images can be edited, emailed, texted, or uploaded directly to social media and blogging platforms.

In addition to image transfer, the WU-1a functions as a remote trigger for the camera's shutter release with a wireless range of 33 to 49 feet, allowing users to include themselves in group photos. The device uses Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) for secure connections and requires the free Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility app available on Google Play and iTunes. The WU-1a is compatible with select Nikon cameras including the D7100, D5200, D3200, D3300, Df, COOLPIX A, and several P-series models.
