Variable ND Filter (82mm, 2 to 8-Stop)

This 82mm variable neutral density filter from Tiffen features a rotating ring that continuously adjusts optical density from 2 to 8 stops, eliminating the need to carry multiple individual filters. The thin 9mm aluminum ring design minimizes vignetting on wide-angle lenses while the ColorCore glass construction delivers consistent color and density characteristics with precise filtration control. This filter enables photographers to achieve motion blur effects in waterfalls and traffic, shoot wider apertures for reduced depth of field in bright conditions, and manage exposure with high-speed film or video cameras that have fixed shutter speeds.

The filter is mounted directly onto the 82mm front lens thread and operated by rotating the ring between the "Min" and maximum density positions to achieve the desired shutter speed without changing aperture settings.
