The RODE VideoMic Pro+ is a compact supercardioid shotgun microphone designed for direct camera mounting or boompole use, featuring a sensitive condenser element that captures detailed audio with minimal noise. The microphone offers flexible power options including an included rechargeable lithium-ion battery providing up to 100 hours of operating time, standard AA batteries, or USB power from an external battery pack. It includes an integrated Rycote Lyre suspension-style shockmount that reduces vibrations and vibration transfer from the camera, along with an updated foam windscreen to minimize wind noise in outdoor environments.

The VideoMic Pro+ provides extensive audio control with three-stage gain adjustment, a selectable high-pass filter at 75 Hz or 150 Hz for low-frequency rolloff, and a high-frequency boost at 7 kHz for enhanced clarity. A dual-mono 3.5mm TRS output with included cable connects easily to cameras and portable recorders, while the selectable safety channel records a secondary audio signal 10 dB lower to prevent distortion from unexpectedly loud sources. An auto on/off function conserves battery power by detecting camera input presence, and informative LED indicators display power source, charging status, operating time, and active filter settings.
