This Samyang 24-70mm f/2.8 AF zoom lens for Sony E-mount delivers a versatile focal range suitable for landscapes, portraits, and general photography with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range. The optical design consists of 17 elements in 14 groups, including aspherical and ED elements, which contribute to sharp image quality and a 0.27x magnification ratio for close-focus shooting at a minimum distance of 13.8 inches. The nine-blade circular aperture produces natural bokeh and aesthetic starburst effects, while weather sealing at seven contact points protects against light dust, rain, and snow.

The lens features a linear stepping motor that provides quiet and precise autofocus control, complemented by cinematic video-focused features including parfocal performance and controlled AF speed during video recording to minimize focus wobble.
