The Sigma 16-300mm f/3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary Lens is an all-in-one zoom lens designed for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras, offering a 24-450mm equivalent focal length range with an 18.8x zoom ratio. The lens combines a wide 16mm focal length for landscapes and architecture with a telephoto 300mm end for wildlife and distant subjects, while maintaining macro capabilities with up to 1:2 magnification at the 70mm position. High-speed autofocus driven by Sigma's HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) system provides quick and accurate focusing, while the OS2 optical stabilization system delivers up to 6 stops of shake correction at the wide end to ensure sharp handheld images in challenging lighting conditions.
The optical design incorporates low dispersion glass elements and four aspherical elements to minimize aberrations and deliver high sharpness and color accuracy throughout the zoom range, with optimized coatings to resist flare and ghosting.
