The Sony a7 IV is a full-frame mirrorless camera that combines strong stills and video capabilities, making it suitable for both photographers and filmmakers. The camera features a 33MP Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ XR processor, enabling 10 fps continuous shooting with full autofocus tracking and up to 828 consecutive raw+JPEG frames when using CFexpress Type A cards. For video, the a7 IV records UHD 4K at up to 60p in 10-bit with S-Cinetone and S-Log3 color grading options, supported by a robust autofocus system with 759 phase-detection points covering 94% of the frame.

The camera's advanced hybrid autofocus system includes real-time eye tracking and subject detection for both humans and animals, with AF performance available across all recording modes down to -4 EV. Additional features include a 3.68-megadot OLED viewfinder with 120 fps refresh rate, a 3-inch articulating touchscreen LCD, enhanced 5.5-stop in-body image stabilization, and comprehensive connectivity options including USB Type-C, HDMI, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth for remote control and live streaming capabilities.
