The Sony a9 is a full-frame mirrorless camera designed for fast-paced professional and enthusiast photography. It features a 24.2-megapixel stacked CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ X image processor, enabling continuous shooting at up to 20 frames per second with blackout-free electronic viewfinder monitoring. The camera incorporates a 693-point phase-detection autofocus system with advanced tracking capabilities, a 1/32,000 electronic shutter speed, and ISO sensitivity extending to 204,800 for shooting in challenging lighting conditions.

The a9 records UHD 4K video internally at up to 30 frames per second using the XAVC S format, with 1080p recording possible at 120 frames per second for slow-motion applications. Its robust magnesium-alloy body features a tilting 3-inch touchscreen, 5-axis in-body image stabilization, weather sealing for environmental durability, and dual SD card slots for flexible file management. The camera also includes integrated connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and wired LAN for efficient file transfer and remote operation.
