About the Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD Lens (Nikon F)
The Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD is a professional-grade telephoto zoom lens designed for Nikon DSLR cameras with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture across the entire zoom range. The lens features Tamron's Vibration Compensation image stabilization system, which uses an improved three-coil mechanism to reduce camera shake and enable sharper handheld shots in low light conditions. The Ultrasonic Silent Drive motor provides fast and nearly silent autofocus operation while maintaining the ability to manually focus at any time.
The optical construction includes one Extra-low Dispersion element and four Low Dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberration and deliver high contrast, high resolution images throughout the zoom range. A nine-blade circular diaphragm maintains its round shape even when stopped down, producing smooth and expressive background blur for portraiture and telephoto work. The lens is built with a moisture-resistant construction, includes a removable tripod collar for stable support, and comes with a matched petal-type lens hood, while its compact design measures 3.38 inches in diameter and 7.41 inches in length.
