About the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Lens
The Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM is a professional-grade standard zoom lens designed for Canon EF-mount full-frame DSLRs, offering a versatile focal length range suitable for wide-angle to portrait photography. The lens maintains a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout its zoom range, enabling consistent exposure control and the ability to work with shallow depth of field in challenging lighting conditions. Advanced optical elements including one Super UD element and two UD elements significantly reduce chromatic aberration, while three aspherical elements minimize distortion and spherical aberrations for excellent sharpness and clarity.
The lens features a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) with internal focusing that delivers fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance while allowing full-time manual focus override. Built as a member of Canon's L-series, the lens includes weather sealing and a protective fluorine coating on exposed elements to resist dust, moisture, fingerprints, and smudges. Super Spectra coatings on individual lens elements control flare and ghosting to ensure high contrast and neutral color reproduction even in bright lighting conditions.
