The Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM is a super telephoto prime lens designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs and compatible with APS-C models where it provides a 960mm equivalent focal length. The optical design incorporates two fluorite elements and four aspherical elements that minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations, while a Sub Wavelength Coating controls flare and ghosting in harsh lighting conditions. The lens features a four-stop-effective Optical Image Stabilizer with three selectable modes, a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor autofocus system with full-time manual override, and advanced focusing features including Power Focus, Focus Limiter, and Focus Preset functionality.
Built to professional standards, the lens is weather-sealed with a fluorine coating on exposed elements for protection against dust and moisture. It includes a removable rotating tripod collar for stable support and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm that produces pleasing out-of-focus rendering. The lens is compatible with optional EF 1.4X and EF 2X teleconverters for extended reach.
