The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM is a wide-angle zoom lens designed for Canon EF-S-mount APS-C DSLRs, providing a 16-35.2mm equivalent focal length range. The lens features advanced optical elements including one Super-Ultra-Low Dispersion (Super-UD) element and three aspherical elements that work together to minimize chromatic aberrations, distortion, and spherical aberration for sharp, accurate images. A Super Spectra coating applied to the lens elements reduces flare and ghosting to improve contrast and color neutrality in bright lighting conditions.
The lens employs a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) with an internal focusing design for fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance while maintaining a constant lens length during operation. Full-time manual focus override is available for manual focusing adjustments, and the rounded six-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasant out-of-focus rendering suitable for shallow depth of field techniques. With a minimum focus distance of 9.45 inches and a compact weight of 13.58 ounces, this lens is well-suited for versatile wide-angle photography across various shooting conditions.
