The Canon RF 35mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens is a wide-angle hybrid prime lens designed for high-end cinema video work and professional photography. This L-series lens features an ultra-fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, enabling exceptional performance in challenging lighting conditions, and its 11-blade rounded iris produces soft, cinematic bokeh. The optical design incorporates two ultra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements to minimize chromatic aberration, distortion, and other optical aberrations while maintaining edge-to-edge sharpness across the full frame.
The lens employs a Voice Coil Motor (VCM) for fast rear focus and a Nano USM for quiet, high-speed autofocus performance with minimal focus breathing ideal for smooth video focus pulls. Its construction is weather-sealed with dust and moisture resistance, complemented by Air Sphere Coating (ASC), Super Spectra Coating (SSC), and Fluorine coatings to prevent ghosting and flare. The lens includes a manual iris ring for real-time aperture control during video capture and an attachable rear gel filter holder, making it a versatile tool for demanding video and stills work.
