The lens features a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture that facilitates low-light photography and precise depth-of-field control, along with an 11-element optical design incorporating one aspherical element and two extra-low dispersion elements to minimize distortion and chromatic aberration. A Nano GI coating applied to individual lens elements reduces flare and ghosting for enhanced contrast and color accuracy.
This lens is built with dust-, freeze-, and weather-resistant construction suitable for operation in temperatures as low as 14°F, making it capable of performing reliably in challenging environmental conditions. The optical design maintains consistent performance throughout the focusing range thanks to its internal focus mechanism, while the physical aperture ring with a Command position setting enables both manual and camera-based aperture control. The brass lens mount and nine-blade rounded diaphragm contribute to the lens's durability and pleasing bokeh rendering.
