The Hasselblad XCD 35-100mm f/2.8-4 E is a standard zoom lens designed for the Hasselblad X mirrorless medium format system, providing a 28-76mm equivalent focal range that covers wide-angle to portrait-length compositions. The lens features a bright maximum aperture of f/2.8 at the wide end, stepping to f/4 at the telephoto end, making it suitable for both everyday shooting and working in low-light conditions. The optical design incorporates three aspherical elements and five low-dispersion glass elements to minimize distortion and color fringing while delivering the sharpness required for the system's high-resolution 100MP sensors.
The lens employs an internal focusing design with a stepping motor and lightweight focusing group to deliver fast and responsive autofocus performance, with manual focus operation providing smooth and predictable handling. A built-in leaf shutter system offers continuous shutter speeds from 1/4000 second to 68 minutes with flash synchronization available at all speeds. The compact metal construction weighs 2 pounds and measures 5.4 inches in length, making it 19 percent lighter and 10 percent shorter than Hasselblad's earlier 35-75mm zoom while offering an extended focal range and faster maximum aperture.
