The lens employs nine optical elements in eight groups, including two aspherical elements and one ED element, which deliver sharp, high-resolution imagery across the entire frame with minimal chromatic aberration. It incorporates a leaf shutter with flash synchronization speeds up to 1/4000 seconds, enabling creative flash photography in bright daylight conditions.
The lens features a linear stepping autofocus motor that provides fast and precise focusing when used with compatible cameras like the X2D 100C, with full-time manual focus override available for direct control. A minimum focusing distance of 8.7 inches and a 1:6 macro magnification ratio allow for detailed close-up photography of small subjects. This compact optic is well-suited for street photography, landscape work, and documentary applications where portability and optical quality are priorities.
