The eight-element, six-group optical design incorporates one aspherical element that reduces spherical aberrations and distortions while delivering sharp image quality across the full aperture range from f/2.8 to f/22. Manual focus operation provides precise control with a minimum focusing distance of 2.3 feet and a 1:22.2 macro reproduction ratio, making this lens well-suited for street photography and general wide-angle work. The lens weighs 6.2 ounces and measures just 1.2 inches in length, incorporating 39mm filter threads to accept optional accessories and the included lens hood.
