About the Metabones T Smart Adapter Mark IV for Canon EF or Canon EF-S Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera
The Metabones T Smart Adapter Mark IV enables Canon EF or EF-S mount lenses to be used on Sony E-mount cameras while preserving electronic communication between the camera body and lens. This adapter supports autofocus, image stabilization, on-camera aperture control, and EXIF metadata generation when compatible with the lens. The adapter features a matte black internal coating to minimize reflections, a wide barrel diameter to accommodate tilt-shift lenses, and an integrated switch that opens the lens aperture to its maximum setting to assist with manual focus accuracy.
Constructed from aluminum alloy and brass mounting rings, the adapter weighs only 5.3 ounces and includes a detachable tripod foot with 3/8" threads and Arca-Swiss compatibility. When using Canon EF-S or APS-C third-party EF lenses with APS-C Sony E-mount cameras, vignetting may occur due to sensor size differences. Full-frame Canon EF lenses work without vignetting on full-frame Sony E-mount bodies, and APS-C lenses can be used on full-frame Sony cameras when the camera is set to crop mode.
