About the Nikon Nikkor Z 17-28mm f/2.8
The Nikon NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f/2.8 is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens designed for Nikon's Z-mount full-frame cameras, offering a constant f/2.8 aperture across its 17-28mm focal length range. The lens features a compact and lightweight design at 15.9 ounces, utilizing internal focusing and zooming mechanisms that prevent extension during use, making it suitable for handheld shooting, video work, and gimbal-based applications. It incorporates advanced optical elements including three aspherical elements, two extra-low dispersion elements, and one Super ED element to minimize distortion and chromatic aberration while maintaining sharpness.
The lens is equipped with a stepping motor autofocus system that provides quiet, smooth focusing performance with a minimum focus distance of 7.5 inches and suppressed focus breathing for video stability. Additional features include a programmable control ring with click-less operation, a 9-blade rounded diaphragm for pleasing bokeh, and a dust- and moisture-resistant barrel with an antifouling front coating. The 67mm filter thread and constant f/2.8 brightness make this lens versatile for landscapes, architecture, astrophotography, and video content creation across varied lighting conditions.
