About the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S Lens
The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S is a versatile zoom lens designed for Nikon Z full-frame cameras that covers a wide range of focal lengths from 24mm wide-angle to 120mm short-telephoto. The lens maintains a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout its entire zoom range, providing consistent exposure control and depth of field capabilities for applications including landscape, portraiture, and general photography. The advanced optical design incorporates three ED elements, one aspherical ED element, and three aspherical elements to minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations, while ARNEO and Nano Crystal coatings reduce ghosting and reflections for improved contrast in challenging lighting conditions.
The lens features a multi-focus system with two synchronized AF drive units employing stepping motors for fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus performance suitable for both still and video work. The internal focusing design maintains a constant lens length during operation and achieves a minimum focusing distance of 1.1 feet with a maximum magnification of 0.39x. Additional features include a programmable control ring for managing aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation, an assignable L.Fn button for quick function access, a dedicated manual focus ring for precise control, and a dust- and moisture-resistant barrel with fluorine front coating for durability in inclement conditions. The compact and lightweight design at 1.4 pounds makes this an ideal all-purpose lens for a variety of shooting scenarios.
