The SmallRig Mount Plate is a camera baseplate designed specifically for the Sony a7R VI that attaches securely using a 1/4"-20 screw and locating pin. The plate features an Arca-type dovetail for compatibility with standard tripods and DJI RS 2/3/4/5 gimbals, along with multiple 1/4"-20 threaded holes and a QD quick release socket for attaching accessories such as wireless grips, shoulder straps, and magic arms. With a rubberized traction pad, raised lip, and ergonomic finger rest, the baseplate minimizes camera movement and hand fatigue during extended handheld use while adding only 2.9 ounces of weight.
The plate includes a convenient slot for storing the included magnetic hex key, enabling tool-free installation and removal. Constructed from aluminum, steel, and silicone materials, it provides formfitting base protection that shields the camera bottom from impacts and scratches. This versatile mounting solution supports seamless transitions between handheld shooting, tripod setups, and gimbal-stabilized configurations.
