The Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens is a short-telephoto prime designed for Canon EF-mount DSLRs, offering an impressively bright f/1.4 maximum aperture that excels in low-light conditions and enables extensive control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates three FLD and two SLD glass elements along with one aspherical element to minimize chromatic aberrations, distortion, and spherical aberrations while delivering sharp, accurate rendering. A Super Multi-Layer Coating suppresses lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity, while the nine-blade rounded diaphragm produces smooth, pleasing bokeh quality.
The lens features Sigma's Hyper Sonic Motor for fast, quiet autofocus with full-time manual override capability, and its construction utilizes Thermally Stable Composite material with a weather-sealed brass bayonet mount for durability and precision. A removable rotating tripod collar with Arca-type compatible foot is included for tripod use, and the front element features a protective water and oil-repellent coating to facilitate cleaning.
