The optical design incorporates three high-precision glass-molded aspherical elements and a special low dispersion element to minimize distortion, chromatic aberration, and color fringing while maintaining excellent sharpness. The lens features fast and quiet autofocus via a stepping motor, making it well-suited for video work and capturing fast-moving subjects, along with a minimum focusing distance of 4.8 inches that enables close-up photography capabilities.
