The Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens is a standard zoom designed for full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras, offering a versatile focal range from wide-angle to short telephoto with a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture. The optical design incorporates two FLD and two SLD low-dispersion elements along with three aspherical elements to minimize chromatic aberrations, spherical aberrations, and distortion while delivering high sharpness and color accuracy. At only 470 grams, this lightweight lens features a quiet stepping motor autofocus system with a single focusing element, making it ideal for video work and compatible with gimbals and other stabilizing accessories.
Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous coatings on all optical surfaces reduce lens flare and ghosting for optimal contrast and light transmission, while a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element provides practical protection during use in challenging environments. The weather-sealed construction with rubber sealing offers dust and splash resistance, and the rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces pleasing bokeh when shooting at wider apertures.
