About the Sirui Aurora 85mm f/1.4 Lens (Nikon Z)
The Sirui Aurora 85mm f/1.4 Lens for Nikon Z is a fast portrait-length prime lens designed for full-frame cameras, featuring an f/1.4 maximum aperture and a compact, lightweight design weighing just 1.3 pounds. The optical design incorporates 14 elements in 9 groups, including one aspherical lens, two ED lenses, and three HRI lenses that work together to minimize flaring and chromatic aberration while maintaining excellent image quality. A 15-bladed diaphragm produces smooth, attractive bokeh that effectively separates subjects from their background.
The lens includes practical controls such as an AFL button for focus locking, an AF/MF switch for quick focus mode changes, and a tactile click ON/OFF switch for aperture adjustments. Additional features include a minimum focusing distance of 2.79 feet, a 67mm filter thread for broad compatibility, a fluorine-coated front element to resist dust and oils, and an included lens hood for protection against flare and impact damage. The lens supports firmware updates via a USB-C port and is well-suited for both extended handheld shooting sessions and stabilizer rigs due to its light weight.
